Waiting on the beta reads, and while I’m doing so, I decided to try my hand at a short story. Something featuring the legendary warrior, Hume. We’ll see how it goes. And hopefully, sometime in the next few weeks, I’ll have a much longer post about what else is going on. For others it might seem like a small step forward, but for me, it has the potential to be pretty awesome.

Please Davis, come out quickly with the third book. Authors these days tend to go towards a bittersweet ending but I hope for a happy ending.

The final revision is moving along. The proofreader has most of the story, so it should be out soon. As for the ending…you’ll get to make your own judgment on that.

Oh my god these two books were a amazing listen two on audible, I brought the first book on a whim and couldn’t put it down now just finished the second one I’m counting down the day to the third one this series is an instant favorite for me

I actually discovered your books on Audible and I’ve enjoyed them so much I just finished my second with them. I’m really looking forward to the third installment. As a side note Nick Podehl is a fantastic narrator, I don’t know if you choose your readers or audible does, but he’s a good choice. Top shelf material, keep up the good work!

Those are some mighty awesome authors with which you’ve got me listed. And, yes, I’ve had a wonderful time writing the books.
BTW did you notice the main character’s name in Larry Correia’s Son of the Black Sword? I thought it was pretty cool that someone else mined ancient India for a name and came up with Ashoka. In my case, it’s a gorgeous city that I intentionally made as lovely as possible in honor of the Emperor Ashoka and his brand of rule later in his life. And then Larry Correia comes up with Ashok as a honorable to a fault warrior–who also does some bad stuff but it’s always based on his moral code.
I did notice! I purchased Son Of The Black Sword right before A Warriors Path. So it peaked my interest and I went a Googling. I also enjoyed how both story’s culture’s are cast based and how you both attack discrimination through such individual unique and creative stories.
I just want to say that I love your work so far, and am greatly looking forward to the release of this next installment. I came across this series on Audible less than a week ago, and couldn’t stop listening. The moment I finished the first book, I purchased the second, and now I must wait. Is this meant to be a trilogy, or are you planning on making it a longer series? I personally would love to see more then just one more book, but that may not fit into your plans, nor the storyline as it stands.
In any case, I shall certainly recommend your work to others and will begin following you so that I can obtain any future stories which you may write.

Funny thing is that I almost didn’t publish the books through Audible. It’s very expensive, but Jacob Cooper (who has a fantastic epic fantasy series himself that is narrated by Michael Kramer of Brandon Sanderson and Robert Jordan fame) convinced me that I wouldn’t go background if I took the plunge. He was right, and I’ll always be grateful for Jacob’s advice. I’m absolutely thrilled the audiobooks have found an audience. It’s pretty much been awesome to hear from readers on a weekly basis because of Audible.
In answer to your question, the series is a trilogy. The finale is a beast of a book. It comes in at 654 pages for the print version, and I suppose I could have busted it into two and expanded some sections, but I’d always promised that this would be a trilogy and expanding it past that would be icky.
And I very much appreciate it when readers suggest my books to their friends, families, or even enemies. Word of mouth is still how books are discovered.
